Position Type: Full-Time, Monday-Thursday 8am to 6pm 

Salary: $40,000 - $45,000 salary non-exempt

POSITION

The Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinator assists in the planning, developing, and implementation of quality assurance activities. Conducts reviews of organizational activities, including but not limited to, service delivery documentation, health & safety, and independent contractor requirements. Completes investigations of allegations or complaints, as needed, and as requested by the Associate Director of QA. Applies subject matter expertise to provide technical assistance to team members and providers. Must possess excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills. Positive attitude, customer-care focus, and genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of the individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Location of position: This position is primarily a work from home position. This role requires occasional travel to our offices (Aurora, Loveland, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Sterling) as well as the home of the individual we serve. 

RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Plan, schedule, and perform routine and targeted audits to investigate and monitor compliance with regulatory requirements, company policy, and quality of care.
  • Present results of audits, make recommendations for corrective action, and evaluate the effectiveness of completed corrective action.
  • Provide training and technical support to providers and staff.
  • Support data entry, analysis, and presentation of key quality metrics and other quality of care indicators.
  • Maintain awareness of current industry trends, regulatory/ policy changes, and risks associated with individuals who are diagnosed with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) through self-studies, training, publications and attendance at trainings and state facilitated stakeholder meetings. 
  • Train staff regarding company and regulatory requirements, audit processes, and audit follow up requirements.
  • Serve as spokesperson or representative of the department in meetings and on specific projects or teams.
  • Develop and continually enhance working relationships with Support Inc. employees and contractors.
  • Promote the mission of the QA Department
  • Additional duties, as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two years' professional healthcare experience working directly with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Support, Inc. requires all individuals in consideration for employment to complete a background screening prior to an offer of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • IDD case management or quality assurance experience
  • Comfortability in working with excel, advanced excel skills

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, consumers, guardians, family members, and the general public.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical and complex problems and critically reason through a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to prioritize work needs to effectively manage time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is varied between remote, office and community locations including the homes of people supported by the company. This position requires a personal vehicle for transportation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to drive. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
