PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

Objective: To support the overall production goals and requirements for brand growth set by management.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set-up and clean-up of production day.
  • Complete the production requirements of the day.
  • Collaborate with all team members about the days’ production and needs for preparation (packaging, boxes, labels).
  • Learn how to operate machinery safely and efficiently to yield the best product.
  • Lift heavy objects (up to 40lbs).
  • Assist in machine cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting.
  • Understand all aspects important to production including inventory control, food safety, and traceability.
  • Daily production room close-out (cleaning and sanitizing).
  • Clearly follow and understand food safety and HACCP protocols for safe food production.
  • Ensure all ingredient and final product are packaged safely and properly so that food quality is a top priority. 
  • Take part in packaging of products, as required.
  • Clear understanding of the importance of food safety and handling practices or willingness to learn. Cleanliness and sanitization in a production facility is of paramount importance.
  • Certification – Food Safe Level 1 or 2, Manufacturing Food Safety (compensated by employer).
  • Willingness to take future courses in manufacturing, production, traceability, and food safety.
  • Open to performing additional tasks outside the scope of ‘Production Assistant’ to learn additional facets of the business.

  • Knowledge of food and/or beverage production principles is an asset
