Job Description

The Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for coordinating all occupational health and safety activities across facilities.

• Provides evaluation and intervention for healthcare workers with infectious agents and follow-up for workplace exposures.

• Acts as case manager for occupational injuries, illnesses, and return-to-work processes.

• Ensures compliance with NC Occupational Safety and Health Act requirements.

• Serves as an employee advocate for health care and treatment, offering direct nursing care and counseling on illness and injury management.

• Administers pre-placement assessments, vaccine programs, and health surveillance.

• Maintains accurate medical records and promotes workplace health and safety.

• Requires licensure as a Practical Nurse or RN (preferred), with relevant nursing education and 2+ years clinical or occupational health experience preferred.
