Under the direct supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for performing a broad range of Human Resources (HR) and administrative duties in support of the HR Department and the organization, with a strong focus on employment policies, employee relations and engagement, federal and state law compliance, morale and retention strategies, organizational culture, rewards and recognition, and employee wellness. The HRBP collaborates with all levels of management (support and operations) to optimize the staffing process and support the onboarding of new employees, which includes developing and maintaining all relevant and required documents. The HRBP will also ensure the timely and efficient processing of all necessary employee information and paperwork while maintaining the strictest confidentiality.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Assists Director of Human Resources in the implementation and administration of personnel policies and procedures
•Supports operations management with HR issues such as recruiting, employee relations, personnel policies and procedures
•Maintains HR information system records and compiles reports from the database
•Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
•Maintains all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies
•Coaches and guides managers and directors after executing employee disciplinary actions
•Assists with pre-employment recruitment tasks as needed (e.g., application review and interviews)
•Partners with Airport Badging Office to complete new hire fingerprinting, clearance, and badging
•Completes new hire onboarding; onboard presentation, I-9 verification and any/all airport-specific requirements
•Works with Director of Human Resources regarding high-level employee relation issues, conducts investigations as necessary, manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action, etc.
•Ensures proper documentation is issued appropriately by managers utilizing Attendance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Brand Standards
•Partners with ops and management regarding terminations (e.g., documentation, badge retrieval, final paycheck, etc.)
•Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data, and makes recommendations to management for corrective action and continuous improvement
•Responds to request for information by employees, managers, and directors regarding PTO, holidays, and other benefit programs offered by First Meridian Services, Inc.
•Applies professional HR concepts when communicating with employees concerning work-related issues of moderate scope and complexity and provides guidance to employees with routine, day-to-day HR questions, needs, and inquiries
•Distributes and monitors management and employee performance evaluations and ensures they are completed and appropriately filed in a timely manner
•Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs and employee engagement surveys
•Partners with employees and management to communicate various HR policies, procedures, laws, standards, and other government regulations
•Partners with Director of Human Resources regarding unemployment claims and hearings
•Positively influences and builds relationships at all levels
•Acts as local point of contact for employees
•Other duties as may be assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
•Current knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws, wage and hour laws, and ability to correctly comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
•Proven ability to use a high-level of discretion and maintain strict confidentiality
•Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively
•Proven ability to work both independently and in coordination/collaboratively with others to positively and effectively accomplish organizational goals and objectives
•Basic working knowledge of HR policies and programs and how they impact organizational policies and procedures companywide
•Current experience with HR information system (HRIS) and/or other related business software programs and systems
•Working knowledge of organizational policies and procedures and knowledge of functional area
•Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations; demonstrates organizational skills and problem-solving skills; and has working knowledge of other areas of HR
•Ability to perform accurate, detailed work
•Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors
•Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or related software

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Human Resources, preferably in the food & beverage industry; or minimum 5 years’ experience in Operations in the hospitality industry
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline preferred
• Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, including compliance, compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Airport: This position operates in a climate-controlled international airport environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, printers, and filing cabinets. The temperature, volume of

noise, and exposure to the public is outside the control of First Meridian Services, Inc.. The position requires use of public spaces as provided by the airport.
Restaurant: This position may require frequent exposure to a restaurant or retail operation environment. Regular exposure to varying temperatures (hot/cold/freezing), fumes, vapors, industrial restaurant equipment, noise, and guests will be a common occurrence.

Salary Range: $60,000-95,000
