Canyon Ranch Plumbing is dually licensed to perform in both Commercial and Residential Construction throughout the state of Arizona. We install plumbing systems for projects throughout various construction phases ranging from ground-ups to tenant improvements in markets such as healthcare, industrial and education. Position Overview :

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our team in the commercial plumbing industry. The Assistant Project Manager will support the Project Manager in overseeing all construction phases of our plumbing projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety and quality standards. This role involves managing day-to-day operations, coordinating with contractors and subcontractors, and assisting with project documentation.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist the Project Manager in organizing and overseeing the planning, scheduling, and execution of plumbing projects. Ensure projects are delivered on time and meet all client specifications.
  • Maintain accurate project records, including daily logs, change orders, submittals, project start-up / close-out documents and RFIs. Provide regular project updates and reports to the Project Manager.
  • Communicate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Track project progress and address any issues that may arise.
  • Assist in tracking project costs and ensuring the project stays within budget. Help prepare cost reports and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure timely submission of pay applications and invoices as per project requirements.
  • Monitor job site safety and ensure all work complies with company safety protocols and industry regulations. Assist in conducting regular safety meetings and inspections.
  • Help manage client communications and ensure customer satisfaction. Address any concerns or issues that may arise during the course of the project.
  • Assist with procurement of materials and equipment for projects. Help manage inventory and track material usage.
  • Help develop and update project schedules, ensuring deadlines are met and resources are allocated appropriately.
  • Assist with preconstruction & basic estimating tasks.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience in commercial plumbing or construction.
  • OSHA-30 Certification, OSHA-10 Certification
  • 1-3 years of experience in the commercial plumbing construction industry or in a related field. Preferred not required. Construction internship experience is a plus. Journeymen/Apprentices encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with plumbing systems & the International Plumbing Code/IAPMO, commercial construction processes, and project management software (Procore, Foundation, Estimating Software etc.) is a plus. Strong Bluebeam and Microsoft skills required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with contractors, clients, and internal teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, subcontracts, and project delivery methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in interpreting plumbing plans and specifications.

Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to travel throughout the Phoenix Area to construction sites, including standing, walking, and potentially lifting materials or equipment as needed.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.

Work Environment :

This role will require time spent both in the office and on job sites. The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with project teams and contractors, ensuring all plumbing systems meet the project’s requirements and quality standards.
